eInvoicing
eInvoicing is a way of sending an invoice directly between a supplier's accounting software and a buyer's, in a structured digital format, instead of as a PDF or paper copy. In Australia it runs over the Peppol network, and software that supports it can send and receive invoices without re-keying them. Because the invoice data is already structured, the buyer's records can be matched to the supplier's with fewer errors. Using eInvoicing does not change what makes a valid tax invoice or the GST rules; a business still needs the tax invoice content to claim a GST credit. Both sides need software that supports it.
