Fedix for multi-partner practices
FediPilot does the tax return itself in LodgeiT or Xero Tax: it reads the client's documents and prepares the workpapers, and the accountant takes a quick look before it is lodged. Fedix Practice Manager covers onboarding, engagement, quotes, invoices, documents, e-signatures, tax-return management, notes and jobs. MyLedger prepares the ledger, working papers and Special Purpose Financial Reports. Neither Practice Manager nor MyLedger lodges; nothing is lodged without the accountant's approval.
In a practice with several partners, work is handed between people and clients belong to groups. The jobs below are about who is doing what and who has signed off.
The jobs and the features that cover them
Invite the team and set what each role can do
- Team invitations: Invite users, resend or cancel invitations, update roles, preview the seat impact and remove access.
- Roles and permissions: Custom roles built on a permission matrix, with cloning, system defaults, per-user overrides and a log of permission changes.
Assign work and move it through your own stages
- Assignees and My Tasks: Assign several people to a job, filter the Jobs page to your own work and claim unassigned work.
- Custom workflows and stages: Define your own workflows with ordered stages, such as preparation, review and sign-off, and set a default.
- Jobs board: A kanban board and list of every job in the practice, with filters and a workflow stage for each job.
See related clients together
- Client groups: Group related clients such as a family or a business group, and create, merge, split or dissolve groups as structures change.
- Group health and ATO summary: Score the health of a client group, flag anomalies and summarise the ATO position across every member.
Record who reviewed a return
- Reviewer authorisations and review records: Authorise which staff may review and release returns, keep the review history and produce a review PDF.
- E-signature dashboard: An overview of signing batches, bulk reminders, signing documents yourself and retained copies.
What stays with the accountant
- Each return is reviewed by the responsible accountant, and the review is recorded against the return.
- The partner decides who may approve and who may lodge; Fedix applies the roles you set.
- FediPilot always asks before an irreversible action, and nothing is lodged without the accountant's approval.
What Fedix does not do
- Practice Manager and MyLedger do not lodge: lodgement stays in the lodgement software your practice chooses, and nothing is lodged without the accountant's approval.
- Fedix is software, not a registered tax agent: the registered agent reviews and lodges.
- FediPilot runs on the practice's own ChatGPT or Claude account, which Fedix does not supply.
- Fedix does not decide partner responsibilities or supervision arrangements for you.
